Gisele has both parents, one brother, Rugira Joel, and one sister, Rugira Asoumpta.  All three children attend Hope Haven. Their family is struggling. Their father is a night security guard in the community, and their mother is a housewife. She also serves in the Hope Haven farming fields as an alternative way of paying school fees. The family owns the simple mud house in which they live.
