Joy is a happy and sharp girl. Her favorite learning activity in class is coloring and counting. On the playground, Joy loves playing with her friends on the swings.  She loves hens. Joy lives with her parents and one older brother,Manirafasha Bright Jehovanis, who also attends Hope Haven. Joy comes from a poor family as neither of her parents have  a profession or a permanent job. They both accept any work available, such as gardening and carrying materials on construction sites. Her mother also serves at Hope Haven in the farming fields as an alternative way of paying school fees. The family lives in a small mud house they own.
